Introducing the founders of The Mentorship Hub
Katie &Thea
Katie and Thea founded WISE (Women in International Schools Empowerment) through their work and roles within British School Manila. The Mentorship Hub emerged directly from this work.
Katie is currently the Head of Primary at British School Manila. She has been a Headteacher since 2007, successfully undertaking prior Headships in 4 different settings in Malaysia and the UK.
Katie believes the best leadership quality is the ability to listen to others and to improve all those around her. Katie is a qualified Leadership Coach, has presented at numerous conferences and has also published articles in the Times Educational Supplement, International School Leadership Magazine and The FOBISIAN.
Katie is passionate about building networks, particularly those aimed at female empowerment. She was the Chair of Primary AIMS (Association of International Malaysian Schools) from 2018 to 2022 and was a founding member of WomenEd Malaysia.
As well as being career driven and passionate about the value of networks for women, she juggles the roles a mother, a wife, a sister and is currently an MBA student.
Thea leads KS3 and also has responsibility for well-being, pastoral care, DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging ) and teaches IB Spanish.
Thea has been living and working in Manila since 2020. Before moving abroad, Thea taught in Surrey and held roles as Head of Year, Assistant Head of Careers and MUN Director.
Thea strongly believes that a key aspect of effective leadership is recognising the diverse skills and perspectives in teams and empowering others to best develop and demonstrate them.
Committed to development and continuous learning, Thea is engaging with wide-ranging learning related to DEIB and believes that self-reflection and vulnerability are fundamental in order to grow and to become better educators and leaders. Mentorship plays an important role in this process.
As well as a being a full time Deputy Head of Senior School and a passionate advocate for marginalised groups, she juggles roles as a mother to 2 young children, a sister and a wife.

The Mentorship Hub aims to create long-lasting connections between women in order to support their professional growth and development and to offer high-quality learning sessions which facilitates and grows these connections.
